The Catalina Island adventure provided the perfect blend of physical and mental challenges, experiential learning, community building, and the joy of being immersed in nature!
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible parent chaperones—Charlie (Alex's grandpa), Gordon (Sawyer's dad), Chelsea (Eli's mom), and Flint (Beckett's dad). We are also deeply grateful for our outstanding faculty: Mari, Diego, Pedro, Brian, and our trip leader, Jacob!
The whole group came together on Monday to begin the trek from Two Harbors to Little Harbor. Despite some initial logistical challenges, everyone made it! The hike was a strenuous climb, and we applaud those who conquered the ascent as well as those who chose alternative paths. Highlights included stunning coastal views, diverse wildlife, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, and a special educational session with a Catalina Conservancy docent.
We also want to recognize the small group of six students and three adults who set off early on the extended trek. They did an amazing job, covering over 25 miles along the Trans Catalina Trail, tackling steep elevation changes, bison encounters, and challenging ascents. Throughout, they embraced the island’s breathtaking beauty and met each challenge with resilience.
This trip strengthened bonds within our student community as they navigated physical challenges, explored the island's natural beauty, and enjoyed meaningful moments along the way. It was an unforgettable experience that perfectly demonstrated the transformative power of our all-school adventures.
Transform Your World - The Catalina Island trip succeeded in fostering exploration, collaboration, and personal growth through hands-on experiential learning.
